Clothes I sewed in 2016: October to December

So here is my last installment of my makes from 2016. In October I was apparently still suffering from a sewing burn-out, so the only finished pieces was this set of wool thermal underwear.

I’ve dreamed about making a vintage inspired set like this for years, and it turned out pretty much exactly as I hoped. Love this set and I have more fabric left so I’ll try to make another set in 2017.

November was when I got started on my workout wardrobe project. This workout tank top was my own design and it has a built in bra and a loose fitting shell.

I also did a pair of leggings in November and these turned out really well too, I feel like all the hard work I’ve put into learning pattern drafting and construction is finally paying off and I look forward to challenge myself even more in the future,

December was a busy sewing month. The most fun project was The Little Red Dress as it was a sewing community thing and is has been ages since I last participated in one of those. I made the dress out of a vintage Simplicity pattern 7194 and the fabric was made for Versace.

I also made a hoodie with a lot of little details. I seriously wear this one every single day currently! As soon as I get off from work a jump into some lounge trousers and a top and then put this one on.

The last piece in my wardrobe project was this running t-shirt with a zipped pocket. Apart from the neckline that ended up being stretched out a bit, this was another successful make that I wear to the gym all the time. I feel so proud wearing my new workout wardrobe. I always reach for these pieces first now, because they all fit so well!

Hopefully 2017 will be an equally rewarding sewing year as 2016 was. I was off to a good start in the beginning of January, but right now I feel a bit stalled since I’m in the midst of trying to make a pair of trousers. But I have so much things going on right now, that I’ve found it hard to concentrate on this somewhat challenging project. What I need is more uninterrupted time, which will probably not happen for a while. But sewing is like life, it has it’s ebbs and flows and that’s fine too!

I love all your makes Johanna and I think that’s an amazing accomplishment in itself! Your makes are also things that you will wear a lot, will likely make again at some point because they are on the necessity list and why buy these items when you can make them so WELL to fit you and in fabric you enjoy wearing? I think you’ve had a truly successful 2016 sewing year 🙂

Thank you, you are so kind ☺ It has been nice to compile all my makes, because when being in the midst of things it doesn’t always feels like one is accomplishing as much as one would like!
