Next up: Voile frills dress

Burdastyle frills dress

Yesterday I finally got going on my Burdastyle sweater and also managed to finish it. Stay tuned for a blog post about that project (you can see a sneak peek on Instagram). While I enjoy sewing, I love the planning bit more, hence why I’m already thinking about what’s next, even before I’ve finished my current project. Such thinking also helps me get motivated to finish a project – so that I can start the next one!

While I might squeeze in a quickie project before I embark on this, I feel really excited getting started with this dress. I’ve owned this beautiful peach voile for years, but have struggled with finding the perfect pattern. But this dress from Burdastyle 12/2015 feels like a match made in heaven, especially since the design allows me to really utilize the embroidery and the scallop edges. I will use those parts on both the butterfly sleeves and on the skirt. So no hemming! Plus I already have some voile for the lining, so I the only shopping I need to do is buying a zipper.

I love planning projects too, which often means that I can't concentrate on the current one. I'm trying to be more patient! I'm excited to see your dress, it sounds very intriguing!

Yes I agree it is so hard to focus! I always start to tire of a project once I'm about mid through. I'm glad to hear I'm not alone who love planning the next project while still working on another!

I love the fabric you are going to use. I also love pale pink with red and Burda tends to do this combo often. I can't wait to see your dress. I'm not much for planning… I tend to get too distracted by the shiny things around me.

Yes you're right they do use that combo a lot, I had never thought about that before, but now that you say it I notice it too. And a lot of just pink too, especially recently
