So what is it really like to make a tailored jacket when one does have minimal experience in the area? Well, in today’s video I share all the nitty gritty behind-the-scenes stuff, including the emotional roller-coaster I was on at times, with some self-doubt and mishaps. I hope you enjoy this longer format video, it is similar to my wrap-dress video, i.e. partly an instructional sewing tutorial and partly a raw honest sewing vlog.
I should also say that in hindsight I’m way too hard on myself in the video and when I look at the end result, I’m very happy with my jacket. But it is just so hard to have that distance when I’m in the midst of a project, especially since some things didn’t go as I had planned plus I was sewing late at night too. Hope you understand where I am coming from!
I have really tried to condense as much info as I can in the video, but of course, there are more things that go into sewing a jacket, and I will blog more about the project in the upcoming weeks. Plus you can already check out my tutorial on How to sew bound buttonholes on a tailored jacket.
Plus my next livestream (29th April) will also be on this topic
