I’m finally back to making some activewear again, I did the first workout top in my new mini wardrobe this weekend. You can see a sneak peek of the top over at my Instagram. And now I’m ready to tackle project number two. This is the first time I’m trying the Valerie 3668 rash guard pattern from Jalie. According to the description, it’s very fitted, and even though the fabric I’m using is very stretchy, I will probably still go up a size or at least grade up to a bigger size around the hip and tummy area, The fit of their activewear tends to be quite snug and I don’t want something super close fitting this time. We’ll see what happen once I start measuring the pattern!
I will also try some decorative stitching and see if it works with this fabric, probably some reverse coverstitching if I can get it even on this grid-like fabric.
I’m always on the lookout for a perfect raglan pattern with no seams in the sides, so maybe this pattern will be the one? I’m planning to wear the top as a base-layer for my winter runs, and if I like it I will probably use the same pattern for my daughter’s Yule gift (hope she doesn’t read the blog!).
