Next up: Sewing a running dress

The people have spoken! After I asked for your feedback on which dress I should sew for my upcoming half-marathon in May, I got a clear winner—the modern one inspired by the tennis dresses that Stella McCartney designs for Adidas. I like that some of you also suggested that I could possible be faster in that dress too 🙂 At this point, I need all the help I can get since I’ve not been able to train as much I would have liked this year.  Also, if you are unsure of what dress vote situation I’m referring to, it was a part of my Sunday video about upcoming activewear plans

I will have to draft the pattern myself for the most part, but if you have any suggestion on any knit skater dress sewing patterns with similar lines, I would love to know! As I’m in a bit of a time-crunch it would be swell if I could base my design on a ready-made sewing pattern, as I would only have to add the panels then. So do if you have any suggestions I would love to know! I draft so many patterns myself or use Burda, that I’m a bit out of the loop when it comes to pattern releases and such.

I will add a built-in-bra to make the look more streamlined. If you are curious on how I do this, you can check out my built-in-bra tutorial. I will also line the bra with power-net for more stability as per my supportive sports bra with mesh tutorial.

Also I need to make a pair of matching shorts, so hopefully I can get cracking with this weekend!

Definitely Jalie. There is a youtube video to help with the construction process, but you don’t need that!

Yes it definitely the pattern to go for, plus I love Jalie too. I have ordered it now 🙂
