Video: Fabric haul, designer denim and kimono plans

While I try to very mindful of my fabric spending and mostly sew from my stash, sometimes I let loose and get some me some new fabrics! In this fabric haul video I share both my latest designer denim finds from my trip to Copenhagen last month, plus very unique knits that were just too good to resist.  Basically a mix of needs (new jeans) and fun (statement knits). Plus some pretty rayon fabric that I can’t decide if I should go the practical or dreamy route with.  Any suggestions are welcome!

Hope you have a great Sunday! My summer vacation has officially started and hopefully, I will get a lot of sewing done.

Love your denims. I too think you would be crazy to try another jeans pattern when you have one that is so good. I think with jeans patterns, they are basically the same features..yoke, pockets, coin pocket, fly etc and so if it fits the look will be similar. I love rayon and remember it in the late 70’s and 80’s and am stocking up when I find ones I like in case it disappears again. I’d love more crepe rayon which I love. I have a dress (that I bought for a bargain in the 90’s) and although it doesn’t fit i still love it and it’s a khaki crepe rayon with little flowers.

You are right, there is really no need to start all over with jeans patterns. But it is so easy to be lured by shiny objects, i.e. new, popular patterns, And I hear you on the crepe rayon, I used to live in those dresses in the late 80’s early 90’s. Fun fact is that I visited Moscow in 1989 with my school and they had the most gorgeous rayon prints in the fabric stores, much nicer than the ones we could get in Sweden. So I spent all my travel budget on those! Also, it took four salespeople to complete a purchase, and now I can cut and buy fabric at Ikea without interacting with a single person!

Great fabrics. There will be quite a nice kimono style jacket in August Burda Style issue (model 111A). The preview is already on the Burda website.
