Video: Sewing Goals 2017 – Half Time Report

August 20, 2017 4 Comments

At the end of the 2016 I posted a video about five sewing I set for myself for 2017. Some where big and some where small and I figured I should do a half time report and tell you how it’s been going. I’m on a big sewing improvement journey currently so setting goals makes sense. Also at this point I know the sewing basics very well and am not really interested in setting number goals such as how many clothes I want make in a year. I rather focus on improving my skills and hopefully it will yield some real improvement. So most goals in this video are focused on the skill improvement aspect sewing. Do you set sewing goals? And if so do you find them helpful or stressful?

You didn’t mention your beautiful DVF wrap dress! I am looking forward to purchasing your book; you are always full of great information!

Ah, yes that DVF dress was something that has long been on my sewing goals list, so that was nice to check off too! Happy to hear that you are interested in my book, that is a motivator for me to plow forward 🙂

Johanna, I always make goals that i will sew this and that every year but never able to implement. This makes me unorganized. But trust me we should make goals to implement. It really ease your job, i have one of my friend in sewing community, she makes goals every year and implement it. I wish i will do the same one day 😉

Goals can be tricky for sure, because we usually sew following our current passion, hence why a lot of goals will get tossed sideways :-). But the last few years my sewing has been way more structured and that has really helped me to improve the skills that I felt I was lacking, and as you say the implementation pays off. I have made huge strides with this goal setting approach!
