Video: The clothes I made for Sicily

In the beginning of July I set up a pretty ambitious goal sewing a travel wardrobe for my trip to Sicily. Curious how it all went? Well in this video I show all the garments and also share some behind the scene stories which involves a sheer silk drama and some other mishaps. Plus you’ll get to see some clips of me wearing the garments in Sicily too!

Some notes mentioned in the video:

Skirt pattern from Burdastyle issue 5/2012

Your story about the skirt and the suitcase is SO funny! Thanks for sharing! I love watching your videos!

Haha, yes that was a moment for sure! I've found myself regularly checking the buttons on the skirt after that incident. I think I'll stick to regular buttons from now on 🙂

Hahaha… that's what happened to me with my strawberry dress and snap front! Except no nice trip with it…LOL. I thought it was a brilliant save for a late night fix. All your outfits are lovely. It's a shame the silk didn't want to play nice.

Lol, it's comforting to hear that I'm not the only one with a snap incident! I mean it sounds like such a great substitute for real buttonholes, but clearly it should be used with caution 🙂

Hi, I loved that skirt since the issue came out in 2012. You did great job, it looks fab! Thanks for a little push to finaly sew it. However, I would like to ask for a little help with the burda instructions. I think I am quite experienced when it comes to sewing(with Burda), but these intructions left me qlueless. I do undestand how to sew the pocket but when it comes to the hidden button placket, I am lost. I understood that it is not “fully” grown-on placket. But where does the separate piece come in? Thank you very much for aby guidance 🙂
