Life of Johanna

Watch and listen to me today!

Yes, I am kinda all over the place today! Firstly I’m interviewed on the Love to Sew podcast, in which I share tips about sewing activewear, my book Sewing Activewear, the realities of being a sewing content creator, what it’s like to sew in Sweden, and plenty more. I haven’t listened to the podcast yet, I hope sound okay!

When the hosts asked me about Swedish pattern designers I got a bit stumped, as we don’t have any internationally known ones such as Finland’s Named and Ottobre or Danish companies such as Stoff & Stil and Onion. But I have probed my fellow sewing friends for tips now and will do a blog post about Swedish pattern companies in the future, there are some cool ones, that just haven’t been able to break into the mainstream yet.

Watch me on The Sewing Blab tonight!

Also this evening I will be interviewed on the liveshow That Sewing Blab at 7:30 pm EST. Link to the livestream

It’s a show hosted by Dawn of Duelling Design and Myra from 1 Simple Inspiration. If you haven’t checked it out before you should, previous guests includes prolific people like Kenneth King and Heather Lou of Closet Case Files and inspirational hobby sewists too. It will be in the middle of the night for me, so kinda crazy but hopefully in a good way! This will be the second time I’m on the show, the last time I announced I was planning to write a book about sewing activewear, so it feels pretty great to know now that I managed to pull that dream project off!

So yes, today is an intense day media wise. It still feels a little bit weird to be an interviewee as I interviewed people for a living for 15 years and I always want to ask the hosts about a bunch of questions too, chatting about sewing is the best!

How wonderful that you’ll be on Love to Sew – I never miss an episode of theirs! And That Sewing Blab is fun too – their interview with Heather Lou was fabulous. Congratulations on all this FAME 🙂 ! You SO deserve it after all your hard work, determination, discipline and good humour! I look forward to listening to you later today!

Thank you Kathleen! It does feel a little intense today and I’m also happy to put Sweden and us non-English speaking folks in general on the sewing map a bit more, we sewists are truly an international crowd!

I listened to it – it was fabulous and I then ordered your book so thank you. I don’t need any cross-country skiing clothing ( not much snow in Bath mores the pity!) but I do need tennis clothing as the stuff in the shops is designed for 20 yr olds and is indecent for 50 yr olds!

Thank you! Happy to hear I can be of help on your tennis garment journey, I see what you mean, I like classic kinda retro inspired workout wear and that too can be hard to find in shops, most is so trendy!
