Fit for Knits is officially out!

Yay, this week Fit for Knits: Everything you need to fit and sew beautiful knit clothes is finally released and available worldwide, both as a print book and an ebook. A big THANK YOU to everyone’s support, encouragement and pre-orders.

Have you already gotten the book? Please leave a review on Amazon or wherever you bought your copy. Reviews make a huge difference in getting the word out, and as a small indie publisher myself it’s beyond helpful for reaching more potential readers.

Want to get your hands on a copy? Here is a list of vendors (more will be added, including Canada once it’s available there). Our Swedish distributor also sold out the entire Scandinavian stock of Fit for Knits in 1 day (!) so I’m trying to figure out how to get more books to us here in Northern Europe.

What is Fit for Knits about?

This is the complete guide to pattern fitting and sewing your own knit clothes—the first book of its kind about this topic.

It will show you how to alter knit sewing patterns to achieve a perfect fit on everything from tight-fitting tops to casual knit pants. Fit for Knits also teaches you the best sewing techniques for stretchy garments, including garment industry secrets that will take your sewing skills to the next level.

Every step-by-step tutorial is explained in an easy-to-understand, visual format. Sewing and fitting knits don’t have to be hard when using the proper techniques and the right type of fabric. This book teaches you how to take your skills to the next level, regardless if you are a beginner or a more experienced sewist.

This book is 260 pages and very detailed, yet super easy to follow and understand due to the visual format.

In the photo, I’m wearing my Gurli knit top pattern and Malena is wearing her Betula top sewing pattern.

This is my first time co-writing a book. I wrote it together with pattern maker Malena Hjerpe. She has spent her professional life developing patterns for some of the biggest Swedish fashion brands. She now works as a freelance pattern maker with one of her niches being pattern-making for knit garments. She also has her own line of sewing patterns, PatternByMalena.

It’s been an absolute pleasure making this book with Malena; we complement each other very well in terms of skills. She has contributed mainly to the pattern alterations sections and I’ve done most of the sewing instructions. But everything has been a very collaborative effort.

Thank you so much for the fantastic support and encouragement that we have gotten from you through this process. We are so proud of the end result and hope this book will be your trusted sewing companion for all those knit sewing projects.
