Sew-Alongs and Challenges

Join the March #stitchactivewear sew-along!

Sewing is more fun when we do it together, so in March I’m hosting my first ever sew-along. The theme is activewear since that’s something I’m super passionate about and always eager to teach and inspire others about as well. So it would be awesome if you would like to join me as we stitch our own activewear!

The #stitchactivewear sew-along set-up

  1. Sew a piece of activewear during March
  2. Use the hashtag #stitchactivewear on Instagram or YouTube if you want to showcase your makes and let us follow along on your sewing activewear journey. If you like you can tag me as well, I’m @laststitch on Instagram
  3. If you don’t have my book Sewing Activewear (yet!), sign up to get my free Sewing Activewear Quick Guide with lots of tips to get you started.
  4. Get 15% off from the ebook version of Sewing Activewear, the Aila leggings pattern, the Aila/Velo pattern bundle and the Aila/Sewing Activewear book bundle until March 31 by using the code stitchactivewear
Use this link to get the 15% discount automatically applied when you click the Check Out button.

That’s it! I want to create a chill sew-along/challenge so that’s why I’m keeping it simple 😊 ✂️💪

What else is happening on The Last Stitch during the sew-along?

  • I will do an extensive Aila leggings sew-along on the blog (super excited about that!)
  • I’m also doing videos about sewing activewear on my YouTube-channel. This Sunday I’m sharing the activewear makes I’m planning to sew in March, plus a bit about my recent exercise funk and why I’m hoping that this activewear challenge will give me some much-needed mojo in the gym.
  • I will also update my Instagram and stories with my progress and share some tips there as well.

Hope that you want to join me in this activewear sew-along and I’d love to hear what you are planning to make.

BTW, if you are looking to find sewing patterns and fabrics, check out my Sewing Activewear Resource Page for all your activewear needs

So let’s go and stitch some activewear!

Oh, I would *love* to participate, but I’m moving to another country in March and just won’t be able to sew… 🙁 Hope you’ll have a great sew-along though! I’ll be following along vicariously!

Wow, a move to another country, that’s a pretty big undertaking. All the best with that! Happy to see that you still want to follow along, I think it’s going to be really fun and I have so many plans for it!

Ok Johanna, do you have any pattern suggestions for men. I would really like to do this sew along. I have my janome compulock (computerized 5 thread serger with coverstitch ready to go and my 4 thread babylock serger ready to go) I have to go thru some of my patterns for the top which I might make out of navy blue polar fleece. I might go fabric shopping later in the week to source materials and look at other sewing patterns. Any suggestion you have are greatly appreciated – me: 5’10 and 200lbs (178cms x 90kgs)
